Film Opener Mood Board

Image
What I am trying to capture in my moodboard is subtle hints for the film opener. Those subtle hints are meant to create a feeling of unease and a feeling of uncertainty. By displaying various elements such as a slightly bloody shirt, multiple knives placed around in weird positions. Body bags with a strange substance dropping to the floor. And to make this a bit more unsettling, the setting is a perfectly normal house with nothing strange that’s happening in it. I chose this mood and feeling in order to make it a short of thriller thing and to capture a bit of a horror element without invoking any direct sense of it. But only through little hints, my goal is to make the viewer feel uneasy while watching this as they slowly combine the pieces together to come up with a disturbing conclusion to figure out what’s really happening in the film, basically to try and capture certain puzzle pieces that would make them understand the true nature of this film opener.

Final Project Idea

The project that we have in mind is related to a genre being mostly that of thriller. The story and plot behind the story is that it starts as a normal sort of setting with a man doing normal things that an everyday person would usually do, however as more time passes. There will be very subtle but noticeable details about the story slowly taking a much more darker tone, such as there being blood somewhere, or there being multiple body bags that are seen nearby with a noticeable stain on them that looks like blood. Basically this film idea that we have in mind is supposed to seem normal at first as it slowly reveals it’s true nature throughout the time of the opening until the very end where the truth is revealed and seen. One of the major parts that I’m excited about regarding this idea is that, we are able to pick endless options of tools or accessories to use for this specific film. There’s almost no complete limit on how we are able to utilize this sort of dark element that we are

Movie Opener Brainstorming and Research.

1. Rise:  The use of the text on the screen during the opening were really well made and neat. Along with the usual usage of the Camera shots and tricks, the camera during the first few seconds of this opening are Hand-Held as its shaky at times, and the use of incidental music, that they picked for this opening was also pretty well done. They also have a montage of the boy putting his soccer equipment on. They also utilize one of the camera techniques which is a cut on action, an example of this can be seen of when the boy kicks the ball into the net as the camera is then showing the ball being kicked directly in it. The use of Mise-en-scene is also shown, as the location is seen to be a soccer place,  as the character that is training with the ball is shown to be training, with his costume being his uniform and his props being the soccer ball and nets. The use of framing for each shot with the boy and the ball heavily differentiate from each other. This Film shows us to keep trying i
