Camera Angle Blog Assignment.

1. Point of View Shot

Most movies that use this sort of shot mostly stems from Horror and REC is one of them, where everything is a complete point of view shot in almost the entirety of the movie, from the beginning to the end. This POV helps create terror and a sense of fear or hopelessness due to how severe the situation is, and to describe how they are fighting to survive through the whole experience. It’s almost heavily realistic due to how well the environment goes with the point of view shots.

2. Aerial Shot

One of the most famous films when it comes to Aerial Shots would have to be star wars, it perfectly captures the atmosphere and lets us see everything that is happening on screen, a good example from one of the Star Wars movies would have to be the opening scene of “A new hope.” It jumps straight to the action and shows the scenery on what’s happening from the outside right now so that the audience can grasp an idea about what might happen next. It also shows space along with stars and some planets to make it really something you would see from a Sci-fi Flim.

3. Medium Closeup.

A good example of this shot would have to be in endgame during the “And I am Ironman”. Where Thanos snaps his fingers thinking that he won the battle, and when the realization hits him. As his face changes from extreme satisfaction to utter despair when he realized that the snap didn’t work. This angle demonstrates the emotion that thanos has shown up closely to capture the feeling that he knew that he lost the fight when the snap did not work. It gives an insight about how he really felt on the inside because we are able to see it through his expressions thanks to the close up.

4. Wideshot

“No Country For Old Men.” Is one of the most popular films that use this short of shot. During the opening scene of the movie it shows the entire town and what it looks like because we get introduced to the characters to demonstrate the environment and setting we are in before we get to the main part of the movie. I find this to be important because it helps the audience give an idea of what time and place this is taken at.

5. Establishing shot

The shining is a perfect example of this during the beginning of the movie when it introduces the setting and has a sort of eerie feeling to it, as it shows mountains, the ocean, the road. Almost everything. It makes it a memorizing experience.
