Why is Sound or lack of sound important to a scene in a film?

1. It’s important because it adds more to the atmosphere and makes the scene feel more alive, compared to a scene without a sound. Lack of sounds make the scene feel more empty and soulless in a way. Which is why I think sound is one of the most important things during a scene in a film because it adds much more emotion in a way.

2. Explain why it was or was not difficult to come up with sound ideas for a story that would not have visuals.

If I had to be honest, it wasn’t really that difficult because you are able to be more creative without having to get sounds that focus on something visually. In my opinion, this project would be much harder if we had to find specific sounds for a visual scene compared to one without any scenes, because we are allowed  more freedom and creativity.

3. Explain if you believe that your group was able to create a sound story that the audience would be able to understand by listening to the sounds that were chosen. Why or why not?

I believe that the audience would understand the sounds we made. Because they are in order, from the door opening, to them arriving to the cat grooming place. I think that most would understand what the story could be if they listened more closely and payed attention to even the smallest sounds to get a slight idea of what’s happening with the sounds present.
